Why Ambition Can Quietly Replace Meaning
The subtle drift most high performers miss
Ambition feels virtuous.
It feels responsible.
Productive.
Strong.
But ambition can quietly detach from meaning.
When achievement becomes self-reinforcing,
you stop asking:
Why?
At what cost?
For whom?
Power without reflection drifts.
And drift rarely announces itself.
It just compounds slowly.
Integrity requires periodic interruption.
You must pause long enough to ask:
Is this still aligned?
Or just accelerating?
Ask yourself: What am I building that I haven’t recently examined?
