Replace One Goal With One Standard
The simplest way to stabilize progress
Today, do one thing.
Pick a goal you keep restarting.
Exercise.
Writing.
Deep work.
Boundaries around time.
Now convert it into a minimum standard.
Not ideal.
Not impressive.
Just non-negotiable.
Examples:
“I work out” → “I move my body for 10 minutes, no exceptions.”
“I write daily” → “I write one paragraph before opening anything else.”
“I protect my time” → “I stop work at the same time, even unfinished.”
Standards don’t ask how you feel.
They remove the question entirely.
Progress becomes boring.
Which is exactly why it becomes reliable.
Consistency isn’t created by ambition. It’s created by standards.

Solid framework. The phrase "standards don't ask how you feel" is key here bc it eliminates the daily negotiation most poeple have with themselves. I switched from "workout 4x/week" to "move for 15min daily" and the streak got way easier to maintain. Making progress boring is such an underrated strategy.
